We can honestly say WordPress is a very powerful blogging platform. Unfortunately, WordPress out-of-box is not strongly covered in the matter of search engine optimization. Minor tweaks can be easily done, starting with changing permalinks and modifying the robots.txt and .htaccess. But we all know these kind of changes can be very time-consuming tasks and they require a very decent if not advanced SEO & coding knowledge.

Since we are in 2013 and WordPress is still gaining in popularity, it’s also parallelly increasing in amount of SEO plugins you can choose from WordPress’ public plugin directory. We all know, not all SEO plugins are good and up-to-date plugins. That’s why we decided to create a list of the recent top 3 search engine plugins in year 2013.

Meet The Best 3 General SEO Plugins

1. WordPress SEO – Yoast

WordPress SEO by Yoast is currently the most popular SEO plugin. Deserved!

I would pick the same three plugins lol. Thanks for the bonus ;)

  2. Can I use all of them together?

    • Theoretically you might be able to activate all the plugins. But it’s not advised, and can lead to some serious conflicts on many levels(php & seo)!

If you are a beginner, All in One SEO should be good enough to begin with. But even with this one some settings need to be applied. Well, it’s recommended to do so.

I`m old school and i still prefer All in One SEO Pack!

  5. I have used both All in one SEO and Yoast. Yoast is better than All in One for me. I think that you use SEO Ultimate plugin. How is it?

    • I use SEO Ultimate because I like detailed reporting and some modules like link mask generator and slug optimizer.

  6. I am currently using All in One SEO Pack…I am wondering if I should use the one by Yoast instead?

    • If you are happy with the SEO Pack there is no need to replace it. However, Yoast is currently the best when it comes to snippets and analyzing.

Yoast is a good choice, but social traffic pop is annoying, you want to see something on a website but the site pushing you to like them or share the item, sounds bit annoying and you will drive people more away with it.

    • It’s not about driving people away or not. It’s about how do you represent your premium content. Many do with ads, others with subscription type and some with methods Social Traffic Pop offers you.

Also about Yoast and all in one SEO pack, they are both great, but for prevent duplicate content Yoast is better, all in one seo pack index faster in combo with Google sitemap xml, about SEP ultimate, I agree it’s too complex, too many options what is for a beginner too much.

I was using Yoast, but now I’m using a new SEO plugin for WordPress. It’s called Squirrly SEO Plugin. It’s very easy to use it and it’s fun to write articles using Squirrly :)
